  1. Of course my fave character from Star Wars is Han Solo! I would love to be entered in this drawing because I luuuuuuuuve orange. Thank you!

  2. Darth Maul’s my favorite, but totally underserved/underused character. His appearance and exit in Episode I were great and terrible at the same time.

  3. While the slashfic writer in me adores the third prequel fight between Obi-wan and Anakin for obvious reasons, I have to say that any time Leia puts Han or Luke in their place or saves their hide gives me warm fuzzies.

      1. She had a job, gorammit, and she was going to see it done. No frills or lace for her. The fact that she wasn’t afraid to use her brain was and is awesome as well.

  4. Han Solo and Princess Leia’s bit of dialog (with Han Solo as my favorite character!) when he gets lowered into carbonite!

    Princess Leia: “I love you…”
    Han Solo: “I know…”

My wife recently watched the movies and when we’re talking star wars I totally call back to this every time!

  5. Does being a 32 year old working in the IT industry and not having seen Star Wars disqualify me? May 4 seems like as good a day as any to watch it for the first time, right? 🙂

  6. Awesome! my favorite character is Princess Leia. I have a few favorite lines: “I’d just as soon kiss a wookie” and then later: “I love you” – “I know”

  7. I still love Darth Vader, and, as far as I am concerned, the prequels never happened. Vader isn’t a whiny kid or an angsty adult.

  8. Would love to have this since I’m a UT Austin grad (burnt orange school colors!) so my favorite character from the Star Wars franchise would have to be Boba Fett ’cause his background and fan-presence is utterly fascinating.

  9. I gotta go with Darth Vader. Meaning “tower of seething menace” Vader, NOT precocious kid or pouty 20-something pre-Vader.

  10. Best line ever – “Luke, I am your father”. Totally devastating.

  11. I’m kinda lame and love R2D2! I just love it when he screams haha. My favorite scene is probably when Yoda was first introduced…

  12. C-3P0 is mine. >>>

C-3P0: I do believe they think I am some kind of god.

Han Solo: Well, why don’t you use your divine influence and get us out of this?

C-3P0: I beg your pardon General Solo, but that just wouldn’t be proper.

    Han Solo: Proper?

C-3P0: It’s against my programming to impersonate a deity.

  13. Favorite sith lord has to be Darth Maul. He was the only good thing about the prequels simply because of his creepy, intimidating, evil, awesomeness. They could’ve done so much more with his character.

  14. Thanks for the giveaway!

My favorite character is Han Solo, favorite dialog is when he asks Leia “Who are you calling scruffy looking?!” in The Empire Strikes Back.

Favorite action sequence is when Han saves Luke’s backside in his trench run on the first Death Star!

  15. Yoda. Love the scene where Luke first meets him and thinks he is some oddball as he ransacked Luke’s pack

  16. Favorite scene (besides all the action in general) would have to be the scene with Ben, Yoda, and Anakin all together. (But NOT the modified one! I choose to believe that doesn’t actually exist.)

  17. Without question, Han Solo!

“Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.”

  18. My favorite character is Yoda! A couple of favorite quotes: “Judge me by my size, do you?” and the ever famous “Do. Or do not. There is no try.” Happy May 4th!

  19. Boba Fett is my favorite character, of course, because the action figure was so hard to get when I was a kid.

  20. “Do or do not, there is no try!” Often quoted by some very cool teachers, hahah.

  21. “Of course you must do what you think is right.” Is my favorite way to politely say something is a stupid idea. Obi-wan rules.

  22. My favorite I would watch over & over is the bar scene, the music is great and their boldness makes you feel good.

  23. Anakin/Darth Vader best little kid to win the race and how he just got through being stuck where everyone was fighting basically defenseless and making a diversion by mistake. one of my favorite scenes. character who turns evil best thing ever in these movies. Thank you sssooo much for this giveaway, i really would love this pen!!!!!

  24. Darth Vader, because he has the most complete story arc of all the characters in eps 1 through 6 (from child to adult and from good to evil and back to good).
Return of the Jedi quote… “It is too late for me, son.”

  25. This is not the droid you are looking for… but this is definitely a pen I would love to own.

  26. Always a fan of Luke Skywalker…his struggle to contain the darkness within is the best piece of the story…hoping the next trilogy expands upon that…

  27. I’ve always loved the ewok settlement on Endor. Favorite scene: Leia stopping the ewoks from roasting Luke and Han.

Thanks for the chance to win this awesome pen!

  28. Han Solo.

Favorite quote, anytime anyone says, “I have a bad feeling about.”

  29. C-3PO: “He made a fair move. Screaming about it can’t help you.”Han Solo: “Let him have it. It’s not wise to upset a Wookiee.”C-3PO: “But, sir, nobody worries about upsetting a droid.”Han Solo: “That’s cause a droid don’t pull people’s arms out of their sockets when they lose. Wookiees are known to do that.”[Chewbacca growls]
C-3PO: “I see your point, sir. I suggest a new strategy, Artoo: let the Wookiee win.”

  30. Im still laughing at the jar jar binks comment. love Han Solo’s, “Your heiness” retorts back at leia.

  31. Would love to win!

For years my fav has been the Jedi Mind Trick:
“These aren’t the droids you’re looking for”

  32. “Never tell me the odds.” It’s even kinda fitting for a giveaway 😛

  33. Han Solo- pretty much anything he said- but right now its the last line from the new movie preview-“Chewie, We’re home!”

  34. There’s something about the title screen and the theme song that just lets me know I’m in for an adventure. I got that feeling with the original 3 and the new trailers.

  35. Yoda (The Empire Strikes Back): “Do. Or do not. There is no try.”

  36. I adore Porkins. And the Banthas. Can’t help it. Oh and I only acknowledge the original three films. The others don’t exist to me. ^_^

  37. I loved their home under the sand. I particularly liked the scene around the dinner table where they’re drinking blue stuff. I wanted to know what it tasted like.

  38. “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”– Jedi Grand Master Yoda

  39. “Just fly casual.”

What a great scene! Han has got to be my favorite character!

  40. Yoga. The near-eternal wealth of knowledge and patience. “Blog well, you do.”

  41. Boba Fett and the bounty hunters standing on the bridge of the Star Destroyer is one of the coolest scenes to me: The sterile Empire rubbing elbows with the gritty mercenaries.

  42. The best scene for dialog was actually one that was cut — the interchange between Luke and Biggs Darklighter outside Tosch station.

  43. Seeing the opening scene of the first Star Wars movie where they panned over the ship — I was breathless and so impressed with the detail!

  44. How can you not love Chewie? The most faithful and protective of companions. Not the brightest bulb in the box, but a heart of absolute gold. Also:

C-3PO: But sir. Nobody worries about upsetting a droid.
Han: That’s cause a droid don’t pull people’s arms out of their sockets when they lose. Wookiees are known to do that.
C-3PO: I see your point, sir. I suggest a new strategy, R2: Let the Wookiee win.
Chewie: (folds arms behind his head and smiles like a boss)

  45. Princess Leia and her plaits! “You have your moments. Not many of them, but you do have them”

  46. My favorite is when we see Vader is not afraid to throw the smack down on his own officers, just for annoying him: “Don’t try to frighten us with your sorcerer’s ways, Lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data tapes or given you clairvoyance enough to find the Rebels’ hidden fort-Ack! Choke! Gasp! *dies*”

  47. I always thought Darth Maul was held back from his full potential. Was also glad to see Kenobi outduel Anakin.

  48. Oh, I’m afraid the deflector shield will be quite operational when your friends arrive. haha, love that line!

Of course, my favorite character is Boba Fett.

  49. Hopefully I would like this better than sand which is coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. You do *not* want sand all up in your midichlorians.

  50. I always liked Captain/Admiral Piett, because he really seemed to have one of the most stressful working environments ever!

As for dialogue, most likely an insult that Leia directed at Han – though my favourite is likely “Will someone get this walking carpet out of my way!”

  51. Does it count if the dialogue is from “Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars”? If so:
Pilot Isabella: Hey farmer boy. We aren’t related are, we?
Phineas: Oh, no. I just had the one sister.
Pilot Isabella: Good *kisses him passionately*

    If not,
Darth Vader: No, Luke. I AM your father.

  52. I love the droids! Favorite quote by C3P-O: I see your point, sir. I suggest a new strategy, R2: let the Wookie win.

  53. Han Solo. He shot first, he got into the thick of the fire (even if it meant turning into a statue for a season), and got the girl, all while flying the coolest spaceship in the galaxy.

  54. Princes Leia has always been my favorite character because of her strong resolve and indomitable nature even in the hands of the enemy.

    “I’d rather kiss a wookiee!”

  55. Amidala – She did kind of become an object in the third movie, but I like how she’s a powerful woman and lived up to her position. Leia would be a close second!

  56. Luke says: “I’m not afraid”, to which Yoda responds with “You will be. You *will* be.” He gets the creepiest look on his face.

  57. Do X-Wings count as characters?

Despite his whining I’ve always liked Luke, but really it has to go to Wedge Antilles, hero of the Rebellion. Luke had the force to make him a great pilot, Wedge had skill.

  58. I was always partial to the Ewoks when I was a kid. Now I am a grown up I think the line, “Your eyes can deceive you, don’t trust them” is pretty great.

  59. Darth Maul, the mysterious demonic looking villain, was the most exciting character. The fight scenes between him and Qui-Gon Jinn was epic.

  60. General Grievous is a cool character. He is on the dark side and I think he is a better Luke Skywalker than the original.

  61. I have fond memories of watching the fight scene with Liam Neeson at the end of the Phantom Menace, not as a beautiful or moving scene, but because I can’t help but giggle remembering my four year old sister yelling something like “he’s toast” in the theater at the scene’s conclusion.

  62. Man, I just watched my first Star Wars movie yesterday! I fell in love with Leia – she’s strong and resolute and independent and beautiful. I’d love to be her.

  63. Yoda, I like.
“When 900 years old you reach, look as good, you will not.”
    “Wars not make one great.”

  64. “Luke: Your overconfidence is your weakness.
The Emperor: Your faith in your friends is yours.”

My favourite is R2D2, but I really don’t know how to write its quotes 😀

  65. I guess one of my favorite is “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for…”

  66. “Too old to begin training the boy is.”- Yoda and “We recognize your place upon the council but you do not grant you master title. “Mace Windoo

  67. Forgive me if I mis-quote here, “beep boop beep beep boop?” Which is R2D2 of course.

I have to say my favorite character was Luke. I was 10 when Star Wars came out (not Episode IV, not “A New Hope,” STAR WARS) so I most closely identified with the “kid” hero. The character I loved to quote though was Darth Vader (or, oddly enough, Princess Leia).

“I’m a member of the Imperial Senate on a diplomatic mission to Alderaan”
“You are part of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor. Take her away!”

  68. Well, Han Solo is the obvious choice but I’m gonna go with Admiral Akbar: “It’s a trap!”

  69. i like Chewy. my favorite line of his is “AAAAAHHHHEEEHHHHAAAAHHHHH”

  70. I was a Luke fan, but mostly the confident bad-ass Luke from Return of the Jedi

  71. “I sense great fear in you, Skywalker. You have hate… you have anger… but you don’t use them.”
And my favourite character would have to be C3PO!!

  72. From Yoda: “You will know… when you are calm, at peace, passive” Thank you for the giveaway-I will try to be . . . calm, at peace, passive . . .as I await your announcement as to the winner.

  73. Cindy above already took mine but “I love you” “I know” made me love Han Solo forever and probably has a lot to do with my taste in men.

  74. Sweet! I loved Star Wars when I was a kid. I never really got into the prequels, probably because of the aforementioned Jar Jar Binks being so annoying. It’s been so long since I saw the original trilogy that I can’t remember what my favorite part was! But I always loved the interactions between C3PO and R2D2.

  75. My favorite character from Episodes 1-3 HAS to be…
    Queen Amidala’s Hair.

  76. I really like Yoda. I haven’t watched the movies in a long long while, I think I need to spend a weekend reviewing…

  77. Almost everything that comes out of C3P0’s mouth is golden, if you’ll pardon the pun. Fatalistic droids are my favorite.

But the all-time best line? Has to go to Darth Vader:

“I find your lack of faith…disturbing.”

  78. I’m partial to the ewoks, mostly because of childhood reasons. And the “Do or do not, there is no try.” quote is pretty cool too.
Now I feel like rewatching the Star Wars movies…

  79. I always liked Boba Fett as a kid (yea, fell for the whole jet pack thing). In the end, I am sticking with the original films.

  80. “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.” Obi-Wan was awesome! But then again, so were R2D2, C3PO, Luke, Leia, Hans, Chewbacca and the rest!

  81. “I love you”
    “I know”
Han & Leia at their best.
    Thanks for the chance!

  82. It were all stars that they have to conquer. And they go on, on their way to the Al-Star

  83. “I am your father…” – Darth Vader to Luke Skywalker, and/or Zurg to Buzz Lightyear…

  84. Oh, my gosh! Luke Skywalker, of course. I was a seventh grade girl in ’77 when the movie came out. My friends all loved Han, but I loved Luke.

  85. Darth Vader. Cool voice. Cool black outfit. Powers. Best movie villain ever.

  86. Han solo! slickest man of the movies.
“Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.”

  87. Your powers are weak, old man.
You can’t win, Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.

  88. My favorite Star Wars character would have to be Darth Maul, because DOUBLE LIGHTSABERS ARE AWESEOME!!!

  89. Favorite character is definitely Han Solo. Every time I see Harrison Ford in a movie I always think “hey cool they got Han Solo for this movie”…

  90. I love R2 in Return of the Jedi. He’s just feisty. I love the scene on the barge where he pushes C-3PO off into the sand and then calmly and nonchalantly rolls right off after him. No explanation, just does what he’s gonna do.

  91. Harrison Ford. I like the everyman aspect of his character( ok in most of his parts) It adds a dash of pseudo reality.

  92. I am such a huge fan of R2-D2’s sass. If that droid could speak English, the saga would have a much higher maturity rating, I’m sure!

  93. Rescuing Han Solo from the carbonite coffin:
    Han Solo: “who are you?”
Princess Leia: “Someone who loves you”

  94. The Millenium Falcon. It counts, doesn’t it? It has a hell of a presence and a fantastic design.

  95. Poor Dak, he should have said “I got bad feeling about this…” instead of “I feel I could take on the whole Empire myself!”

Of course, look who’s talking…Vader nailed me in the Death Star trench. How did Wedge make it outta there? I was a much better pilot.

  96. Mon Mothma of course. She sent all those Bothan spies to their deaths but man was it worth it.

  97. After having just rewatched A New Hope on VHS (original version) – Han getting frustrated trying to keep guards out of the prison section, shooting the intercom, and dismissing it as a “boring conversation anyway.”

  98. Star Wars was the first film I saw at the cinema. At the time my parents still had a black and white TV so seeing the start destroyer chasing the rebel corvette slowly enter and fill the screen blew my 5 year old mind!

  99. Favorite dialogue bit? Definitely “That’s no moon. It’s a space station.” 😀

  100. When I think of Star Wars my first image is of Princess Leia and those wild side buns in her hair.

  101. “Why you stuck up, half-witted, scruffy-looking…..nerf herder!!”

    “Who’s scruffy-looking?”

  102. Yoda! ‘Fear is the path to the dark side…fear leads to anger…anger leads to hate…hate leads to suffering.” The Phantom Menace

  103. Luke Skywalker: “But I was going into Tosche Station to pick up some power converters!”

  104. The wild thing about Star Wars is there’s no “best part”… the actors, the dialogue, and the intense cinematic experience was an amazing accomplishment when these films hit the theaters and has endured to this day. It’s all incredibly moving, and I hope my kids will enjoy it too. If I could Jedi Mind Trick a win for this contest I would, AWESOME PEN, good luck to everyone…

  105. Got to go with Harrison Han Solo…. Just the perfect carrier of a fountain pen.

  106. I have to agree with carol Anne, the whole thing is great, but I do love the garbage disposal scene because it grosses me out every time!

    1. Oh, how sad, i just realized I’m too late. Apologies to Carol Anne for mistakenly not capitalizing your name the first time. Good luck to you all!
