  1. My best was a 3/4 scale NFL Football goal in the backyard for my son. I designed and constructed it out of wood and PVC pipe. He absolutely loved it.

  2. One of my favorite simple projects I did was putting together Valentine’s gift boxes for my friends. I wanted to do something red-and-white themed so I found Chinese takeout boxes and stuffed them with lots of small trinkets, including good luck charms, chopsticks, and miniature cards. I sealed them up with wax and passed them out at school.

  3. Always carry Field Notes with me to sketch out designs for projects around the house. Bunch of pages are filled up right now for the new nursery that used to be my office!

  4. I really want to do a fingering-weight, fair isle cardigan. I just can’t seem to make myself sit down to figure out what pattern.

  5. So far, my favorite crafty effort is a very simple, refillable leather journal cover. I like being able to just throw any kind of paper I like in there, and mix up colors and textures in the same signature. Its also freeing, knowing that the pages are easily changed, so I don’t have to worry about what I’m writing and doodling, and screwing it up =)

  6. The best crafty project I made was in 8th grade and I copied Von Gogh’s Starry Night with string! It’s my favorite painting. I lost the string art I did a while back, but it was my best work.

  7. Although I’ve been building closets and remodeling our basement, I rather enjoy repair and fine-tuning fountain pens.

  8. I don’t do craft so much as I write. A lot.
My favourite writing project is NaNoWrimo (National Novel Writing Month- you have to write a 50,000 word draft of a novel in 30 days; it lasts throughout November).
I also like to use virtual magnetic poetry websites as poetry practice 🙂

  9. Nothing too fancy, but I can make a pretty good martini now and then and a few other cocktails. Amazing what you can accomplish with some good liquor, fruit, and a recipe book. Now, our daughter, she draws and paints. She’d like some of this stuff.

    Best, and keep on blogging.

  10. I make jewelry (mainly with beads though) and now I am trying to knit again (went to a phase when I was in middle school but pushed it aside since I never need anything knitted down here in Texas).

  11. My current crafty project is inside a found guest book which is between two parts. An interlude. Two fountain pens used and two different ink colours. Its is simply titled GUEST BOOK. No page numbers.

  12. Would a new six-foot privacy fence count as crafty? If not, I am currently hunting milk crates as I design a new “bookshelf” for my daughters’ ever growing collection.

  13. I found these tiny canvases and easels at the craft store last Christmas. They were 1inx2in and I made tiny paintings on them, glued the canvas to the easel and added a string. What I ended up with was a home made tree ornament. My sisters liked them so much they keep them on their desks year round!

  14. Creating banners using photo-editing software of my favorite Australian actor. Does that count? It’s sort of crafty :o)

  15. I like decorating plain composition books with pretty scrapbooking paper, doilies, and stickers! Then I have someplace beautiful and personalized to record my diary entries. c:

  16. I like making envelopes. I sit down and choose if I will use scrapbook paper or some other medium, then I choose the size. Will there be stickers, washi tape, stamps, doodling? My goal is to get a typewriter so that the addresses are typed.

  17. I love making wreaths out of random items – it’s my way of recycling and trying to save our planet. I’ve used wine corks, used coffee filters, Peace Tea cans and bottle caps. My next project is a wreath made out of used Starbucks cups. Basically I’m sticking it to corporate America.

  18. I like to bake cookies or brownies. I especially like to watercolor paint, the way the colors mix intrigues me.

  19. My favorite thing is sketching. Urban sketching! I’m convinced that sketching while travelling is much better than just taking pictures.

  20. I like to take photos with my iPhone of cloud formations which can be spectacular in the high desert southwest. Some have appeared on our local news weather segments.

  21. I’m not sure if it’s crafty or not but I’m doing art journaling right now.And I just want to say thank you for these opportunities to win these lovely packages! It takes time, energy and money to do this. After all that we see and read in the news,it’s nice to know that there are still truly nice people in the world!

  22. I normally love to hand-make gifts and small trinkets for friends like birthday cards and friendship bracelets (only because I’m too poor to buy everyone something). I also love to make paper children out of my old school notes/work sheets! Not sure if that’s considered very crafty. Along with that, I’m starting to pick up an interest in hand drawn animation via my sister’s new Bamboo Tablet and cooking/trying new recipes too!

  23. I do lots if crafty stuff (well used to) but not so much lately. I think making envelopes is my favourite thing lately. You can make them out of anything. Just open one, trace it into a magazine page or whatever, tape it up & decorate! I’ve been more letter-focused lately.

    Anyway, thanks for the giveaways!

  24. I don’t know if it is considered crafty. But I work a lot with electronics and designing mechanical engineering parts.

  25. My craftiness is limited to anything with paper. And apparently from the look of my ever growing stash, I’m trying to amass the entire world stock of paper. It’s an addiction.

  26. I once saw the most beautiful burlap curtains in a catalog and I desperately wanted them for my pergola on my back patio. I didn’t want to spend that much money on them so I crafted my own! I purchased burlap, that fake sewing tape that you seal with an iron, and curtain hooks all from JoAnn Fabrics. I took my ironing board right out back on my patio and worked away the morning and afternoon and at the end of the day I had five beautiful panels of burlap curtains which made a nice backdrop for the seating area under my pergola!

  27. I’m a knitter – I take needles and yarn everywhere. Nothing says I love you like homemade gifts!
I also admit to an office supply addiction – love, love your blog!

  28. I love to bake! I love baking cakes, cupcakes and cookies (: I like getting creative with the designs and trying new recipes out!

  29. I like to make cards for people, using an old photograph of us or something vintage in general for inspiration. With [smartass] copy that relates to them specifically, and the sometimes not-so-straight edges of my craftsmanship, I like to give people something that no one else can give them.

  30. I also love bookbinding, so I’m envious of whoever wins this giveaway, especially that “secret” belgian-binding style notebook. Learning that particular bookbinding method is probably next on my crafty to-do list.

  31. I knit and crochet. I did a lot more before I starting graduate school. I’ve thinking about picking up my tatting stuff again. I’ve also been coloring a lot of mandalas lately.

  32. I really have this want to do some leather craft work. I designed some pen cases and my wife helped me put them together. Looking at Etsy and seeing all the notebook covers and wallets really helps fuel that desire.

  33. I create and draw lots of aliens. I like designing new species all the time. Sometimes I sketch them in my journals or with my tablet. I’m usually inspired by different shapes or colors. Often it’s easier to flesh them out if I work with one, give them a name and move on thinking about what their individual life is like.

  34. One of the people on one a fountain pen site I frequent sent me 25 samples of ink. Since I didn’t have a vial holder I transformed the box he mailed the samples to me in into a vial holder. It works but it looked prettier in my head than the reality of it.

  35. I like to create one-of-a-kind letters for my pen pals and family. I like to create envelopes an other cool elements to send in the mail!

  36. The only thing I’m crafting this weekend is my book. Hoping to finish the first round of edits on an 80,000 word novel. Would love these notebooks for catching ideas.

  37. This is an awesome giveaway, thanks for having it. I do a lot of crafts and I even cook, bake a cake decorate.

  41. I am not all that craft-y, but I do enjoy a good doodle session. At heart though, I am a writer (still trying to overcome a bit of writer’s block).

  42. My favorite craft used to be cross-stitch, but I haven’t done that in years. Right now I’m channeling some of that energy into creating photobooks for family members.

  43. Oh, how I enjoy my time in the kitchen. Making a meal and bringing it to the table with a little thought for the presentation is a true joy.

  44. I like food creativity, preferably of the decadent sort. One of my favorites is stuffing chilled chocolate chip cookie dough (made with dark chocolate chips), with nutella. So delicious!!

  45. You name it, there’s a good chance I’ve at least tried it… some favorites have been knitting, printmaking, drawing, photography, calligraphy, diy electronics, and computer programming (it feels crafty when I do it!). Lately I’ve been incorporating ruler-and-compass constructions into my drawings and trying to write at least a bit every day.

  46. My most recent crafty projects were a hand-made wedding card with copperplate calligraphy and a wrap-around skirt for fending off the rain while cycling.

  48. My favorite craft is creating calendars or books from photos on my computer. As a fountain pen and paper collector, I love your blog.

  49. I’m writing yet another novel, which may not be particularly crafty, but certainly consumes lots of paper. Actually, I just want the plastic eraser, because the ones on my new Blackwings are just bad.

  50. I’m not crafty. But my next project is to make a set of stools and a table using parts from old bourbon barrels. The staves for the support and legs. And the barrel heads for the tops.
