Tired of holding a little brick-of-a-phone up to your ear? Miss the feel of tucking the receiver under your chin while washing dishes? I know I am so I was quite pleased to find the Native Union Moshi Moshi Retro Handset. Its available in an array of colors — Princess phone pink for the boudoir, banana yellow for the kitchen and classic office clerk black, to name a few. I will connect to iPhone, Blackberry, iPad and MacBooks.

Many reviews comment on how comfortable it is to use and the clear, crisp sound quality. Dissenters complain it was hard to put in their pocket. So, let me state that this unit is best left in your home or office, in case you were tempted to use it on the train or walking down the street. Humorous? Yes. Convenient for travel? Not so much.

Writing Longer Letters

Writing Longer Letters

While not entirely relevant or applicable to most people today, I was amused at some of the quotes about how, even in 1922, letter-writing was becoming less frequent and that one’s daily mail was more bills and advertising than correspondence.

And even some of Ms. Post’s no-no’s would be welcome in my mailbox (or even my email in-box).

From Emily Post’s Etiquette (1922). You can also read her advice on writing shorter correspondence or any other section from the book.
