I found these two small, pocket spiral notepads on a trip to the antique mall. Both had the worn brown, heavyweight waxed covers and aged yellow, lined paper. How could I pass them up?

Shouldn’t every man have a notepad and a pencil in his shirt pocket? (by me)

I scored this unused vintage “ledger” at the antique mall this weekend. It appears to a pocket sized address book though it could have been used for a number of purposes. I love the creamy yellow pages, think blue lines and the tabbed alphabetical cut-outs.

I don’t know if you noticed the left-handed writer in the logo for The Well-Appointed Desk but as a left-hander with a notable “hook”, I love seeing Obama signing documents with a similar flair. Its sad to hear people giving him a hard time about it. Obama, like myself, probably grew up being taught to place the paper at a right-leaning angle and its a hard habit to break.

Thanks to years working at Hallmark, I am a loyal user of 3x5s for notes, reminders and various writing needs. The 3×5 has a long history at Hallmark including the infamous “When you care enough to send the very best” having originally been jotted down on a ubiquitous 3×5 before being immortalized on the back of greeting cards everywhere.

Needless to say, finding this durable metal box with vintage metal-topped dividers was quite the coup. (by me)
