Finally! The stapler of my dreams! This is my dream stapler and I found it in good working order at the antique mall. It has a flip plate to switch between staples that press inwards and outwards. I prefer my staples to go inwards but I’m sure there’s a good case for staples that splay outwards as well. Purchased at the River Market Antique Mall for less than $20.

I love the idea of really well-designed, well-made, preferable simple, American-made (or Canadian-made) products, particularly if they have really smartly-designed websites that are entertaining to read. So here’s your product placement for this evening: Field Notes. Has a kind of American Muji thing going on, it seems to me.
(A little shout-out to Field Notes from one of my favorite authors, William Gibson.)
While I’m on the topic of Field Notes…
Check out the County Fair editions now available through Field Notes. The 3-book set comes in prize-ribbon colors: blue, red and yellow and available for each of the 50 states with factoids on the back. $9.95 for a set.

There is good reason why I couldn’t pass up the Agent Obsolete mixed lot of office supplies — pencils. And green ones, at that.
