Using a spiral model can increase the ink capacity of a pen two-fold. This is still in the concept phase but its only a matter of time before this spiral design in the standard for ballpoint pens. More ink and less waste is a great evolution.

This vintage 50s illustration of a kitchen office is a feast for the eyes and looks quite functional too. The neutral grey with red accents (including a red Eames bent plywood chair) is both retro and modern. Pull-out work surfaces would be just as useful today for laptops as they were for typewriters.
