After posting about the plethora of color options, it became clear that the best course of action is to giveaway a gift certificate (valued at $160)  so that YOU can choose which color Erste (L12) best captures your heart.

Yellow, Seafoam, Turquoise, Lavender and Plum. And, of course, Pink!

Erste PINK

Above is a photo of all the colors . You can choose any color. The gift certificate is valued at $160. Winner will be responsible for any customization, add-on costs or shipping, taxes and fees.

TO ENTER: Leave a comment below and tell us what color combo or the Erste you might like. Play along and type in something. It makes reading through entries more interesting for me, okay? One entry per person.

If you have never entered a giveaway or commented on the site before, your comment must be manually approved by our highly-trained staff of monkeys before it will appear on the site. Our monkeys are underpaid and under-caffeinated so don’t stress if your comment does not appear right away. Give the monkeys some time.

FINE PRINT: All entries must be submitted by 10pm CST on Tuesday,  July 19, 2022.  All entries must be submitted at wellappointeddesk.com, not Twitter, Tumblr or Facebook, okay? Winner will be announced on Wednesday. Winner will be selected by random number generator from entries that played by the rules (see above). Please include your actual email address in the comment form so that I can contact you if you win. I will not save email addresses or sell them to anyone — pinky swear. 1. Love the simplicity of these pens. Nice, clean looking lines. Looks like they would be soothing to hold. Love all the colors.

  2. Oooh, I think I’d either like to do pink with green or purple with green. Pink and green is a fave color combo of mine. It evokes strawberries and watermelon. The green and purple combo love comes from Neon Genesis Evangelion, nerdy as that may be. These pens are gorgeous! Thanks so much for the opportunity.

  3. It’s hard to choose a colour combo! I like most of the colours! The turquoise with a purple nib. Or either of the purples with a teal nib…! So many possibilities. 🙂

  4. I have a Hinze. It’s great! I want another. 🙂 Seafoam and Emerald would be a great combination.

  5. Oooh thank you so much! While I love your seafoam with purple nib, I think I would choice either turquoise with orange nib, or plum with a green nib. BOLD or stub most likely.

  6. I’m not sure how I feel about the anodized nib yet, but maybe I’m also curious what the Turquoise pen would look like with an orange nib!

  7. Thank you for this wonderful offer! I would definitely choose the Plum , dear monkeys, you need to request more caffeine- I highly recommend my favorite, Tim Hortons coffee, and as you may live in an area of the country where it is unavailable m I promise to send you some if I win.

  8. It’s so hard to choose, there are so many beautiful options! But I think I’d have to go with a pink barrel and turquoise nib.

  9. I’d gladly take the Pink/Teal one off your hands. I love that color combination!! Or a gift certificate will do.

  10. Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! I hope I win one of those purdy pens! If I do, I’ll probably choose yellow, ’cause it looks like sunshine. And then I’d pick a turquoise nib and maybe a turquoise clip, too.

  11. I’d choose the plum pen and seriously consider upgrading to an electroplated nib in green since purple and green were our wedding colors 🙂

  12. Oooh. So hard to choose–I think I will have to go with a yellow body and purple nib.
Second choice would be yellow body and stainless steel nib….

  13. Ok, it’s game time! I’m ready! I’d pick the sea foam with the pink nib. Or maybe the fuchsia, no pink! Or…pink pen with turquoise nib. Or do I pick the yellow nib to make my 8 year old self happy? Do not pick me for all your bridge crossing adventures.

  14. Love that yellow!
    I’d nick-name is Ringo!
Or maybe the pink and call it Sea Tiger (after the submarine from Operation Petticoat).

Either way I’d load it with shimmery ink that reminds me of the sea.

  15. I would choose the turquoise color pen, but not sure which nib I would go with. All are great looking pens!

  16. Hmmm. Turquoise, with either a black chrome or a brown stub nib (although it looks like the stubs are not ready yet.)

  17. I’m always stuck going for the blue, even when I think I might make a different selection. However I would jazz it up with a different colored nib—maybe sea foam or lavender. I might even go for some other addition if I come up with a good idea.

  18. I would choose the turquoise color pen, but am undecided which nib to go with. All of the pens look great!

  19. I think I lost my comment. Turquoise pen with stainless steel EF nib even though that may sound boring. I like that it is regular sized, has a little bit of sparkle, sleek lines, and comes with a converter. Could use some happy news after my past week. Thanks for running the contest. 🙂

  20. The Blue looks incredible, but if I had a choice of any color in the spectrum, a deep dark purple or a silvery-gray would be fantastic in this model.

  21. It’s REALLY difficult to choose just one combination, as there are so many fun options, but I think the plum pen with and emerald nib would be my favorite.

  22. I confess, I’ve ordered a purple one but I’d love to have a turquoise one with a fuchsia nib! These colors are all fantastic!

  23. I think I’d have to go with yellow, because that color is not represented in my pen collection at all!

  24. I like the seafoam with the purple nib, as you say it has the right amount of pop. Besides I have some purple ink that is calling its name.

  25. What a fabulous give-away! The turquoise pen calls to me, but I’m not sure whether I would pair it with a purple or a green nib. The brown might be nice, too…

Making decisions is not my superpower.

    Ruth

  26. Turquoise with pink nib. Or pink with turquoise nib? Or green? Green with pink nib? Pink with green nib? Purple with green? Green pink purple turquoise pink purple turquoise green PINKPURPLEGREENTURQUOISEPINKGREENPURPLEGREENPINKTURQOIUSE

  27. Ooh! Definitely pink, but with a different coloured nib… maybe a purple one? I’ve always liked pink + purple together. ^_^ Thank you for the opportunity!! Loving all the colours & customisability.

  28. I’m torn between the Lavender w/Teal nib or the teal w/purple nib? Or some other color I haven’t seen yet and have to have! Thanks Ana!

  29. How awesome! Thank you. I would be happy with either the seafood or turquoise pen and both paired with the purple nib.

  30. I would go with a Turquoise body(barrel) with a bold black nib or a plum body with a bold black nib.

  31. I’ll go for a yellow body and purple nib, in memory of someone who loved yellow and someone who loved purple.

  32. Thanks for the giveaway Ana! It’d be a really hard choice but I think I’d go Turquoise with an Orange nib!

  33. I’d have to choose the green (my current favorite color) and I think a purple nib would be a great accent.

  34. If I were fortunate enough to win a Hinze Pen Co L12, seafoam would be first choice. From then on it would be thought of as my Jadeite pen, out of fondness of kitchenware from decades gone by. How my Jadeite pen came to acquire a pink nib would be for a story not yet written

  35. Oh! how hard to choose a color, Yellow is my favorite color, the nibs are also very pretty. I would pay extra for a colored nib. Probably the blue nib to contrast with the Yellow pen.

  36. Yellow, with either a black or black chrome nib. I need a bright-bodied pen in my collection, and I can then confuse the heck out of myself when the black nib writes in some other color ink. It’ll be like a surprise every time I uncap it!

  37. Oooh,, they’re all so pretty! I’m leaning towards the turquoise with purple 1.1! Thanks for sharing your reviews!!

  38. I might have to play around a bit to decide, but offhand the seafoam with a brown nib seems like an interesting option.

  39. The seafoam w/ the purple nib or the plum with the green nib…what will actually happen is both. Both will happen.

  40. Great looking pens. I’d go for turquoise with an orange nib. Thanks for all the great content! Happy to see a giveaway this proud Canadian can enter.

  41. I would choose green– I love the comparison to vintage jadeite! Its the nib color that I can’t make up my mind on…

  42. I’m going to choose turquoise as I have a plethora of gorgeous turquoise inks so I can really matchy-matchy.

  43. I would go outside of my usual “business look” and get turquoise with orange nib. Ink with either some none business blues or burnt orange inks.

  44. Love the idea of mixing and matching colors. I’d go for the plum pen with an upgrade to get a green nib…very Wicked choice wouldn’t you agree?

  45. Aloha! Hinze makes some great pens and this is no exception. I have no issues, as a guy!, with choosing a pink pen and a matching pink nib. Mahalo to you Ana and Hinze Pen Co for such a generous giveaway.

  46. I think turquoise with a purple nib? But I always have trouble deciding. These look so fun! Thanks for doing the review & giveaway!

  47. I’d get a yellow body and emerald green nib! It would look like the yellow brick road leading up to the Emerald City! 🙂

  48. I would go with the Turquoise. It just barely beats out the Sea Foam to my eye. As to the nib, it would be polished steel. For whatever reason, I am not a huge fan of colored nibs. The 1.5 mm stub is what I would go with!

  49. Gotta have that green. Could there be a chocolate brown nib? Hm. Or the violet nib? Or…

  50. oh man… so hard to choose among the cool colors. (no pink or yellow for the pen body)…
    Maybe LAvender, with Green nib?
    or Plum with Fuscia nib?
or Sea Foam with Emerald Green nib?
    or Turquoise with Blue nib?
    or…
    or…

  51. If I could get one of these lovelies, I would probably go for a plum color with a red nib. I think that would be such a fun color combination OR I would do that lovely green. So many choices…

  52. Honestly I would let fate choose my colors. I would assign pen and nib colors to some of my dice and then roll for what I was going to get.

  53. Oooh, I want the sea foam! And that purple nib looks great. Or maybe an orange one. Or a red one… oh, dear.

  54. I would go with the sea foam, fun but still a sort of professional looking. Honestly though any color/ nib combo would be amazing.

  55. Whoa! That’s a spicy nib. I would like purple with Seafoam green! It will remind me of the ocean I love!

  56. A turquoise pen with a fuschia nib would be perfect for a vibrant pink ink. I’d put pilot yama budo in it.

  57. Thanks for the opportunity!

I have been on a green kick, so I’d pick the seafoam pen—with a darker green nib.

  58. The Seafoam color intrigues me. It may remind me of the colors around me when I was growing up in the 1960’s, including the tile in our kitchen and the doctor’s office.

  59. Such a fun giveaway! I think the seafoam green is really pretty with the purple nib 🙂 All the colours are super bright and cheerful though!

  60. After spending far too much time musing over the options, perhaps a yellow pen with an orange nib (filled with a nice red ink to follow that colour spectrum change), or a turquoise pen with an orange nib as just a fun retro combo.

  61. That yellow looks nice. I think one of the green nibs might do well with it. But there are many nice colours. Not sure what I might pick if I won.

  62. All these colors make me dream… But I’m a pink lover these days. So I would say Pink with turquoise nib, or Turquoise with pink nib!
