We pause our regularly scheduled Inkmas to announce a very special giveaway. A kind reader has an extra Hobonichi Techo (classic A6-sized, Monday Start for 2026) that she doesn’t need and asked that I give it to a reader. For full details on this planner, check out the full description on 1101.
If you missed a chance to buy one domesitcally or are feeling a little strapped for cash this year, this may be your chance to get a new planner thanks to the kindness of a stranger. A Santa gift!

TO ENTER: Leave a comment below and tell me how you might “pay it forward” if you win. Play along and type in something. It makes reading through entries more interesting for me, okay? One entry per person.
If you have never entered a giveaway or commented on the site before, your comment must be manually approved by our highly-trained staff of monkeys before it will appear on the site. Our monkeys are underpaid and under-caffeinated so don’t stress if your comment does not appear right away. Give the monkeys some time.
FINE PRINT: All entries must be submitted by 10pm CDT on Friday, Dec. 12, 2025. All entries must be submitted at wellappointeddesk.com, not Instagram, X, Tumblr or Facebook, okay? Winner will be announced on Monday. Winner will be selected by random number generator from entries that played by the rules (see above). Please include your actual email address in the comment form so that I can contact you if you win. I will not save email addresses or sell them to anyone — pinky swear. If winner does not respond within 5 days, I will draw a new giveaway winner. Shipping via USPS first class is covered. Additional shipping options or insurance will have to be paid by the winner. We are generous but we’re not made of money. US and APO/AFO only, sorry.
And now back to our holiday tradition, Inkmas, already in progress.

I would love the Hobonichi and I will pay it forward by sharing my techo setup
My family has been helping individuals with food instability and plan to continue to do so.
I’ve been interested in Hobanachi planners, but haven’t been able to commit – winning this would be a lovely opportunity!
I would handwrite a thank you note to the generous donor!
I would use this planner to (1) learn how to spell Hobonichi without first having to look it up; and (2) plan dinners for 2026 for friends and family. If the latter doesn’t work, I will give it to my child (who shall remain nameless, but is not a good planner. You know who you are). Many thanks to the generous donor.
Oh my goodness, I so want this! I will pay it forward by planning out my art-ivism with the planner!
I have never used the Hobonichi A6 before. It looks like a great layout. I will pay it forward by using it to track public engagement events at the library I work at 🙂
I would pay it forward by volunteering at my local arts and crafts thrift store. I love meeting everyone who comes in and hearing all of the creative ideas!
I have already been planning on making a decent sized donation at the end of the month to a charity and will continue to do so regardless of winning but this was so nice of the reader. I wanted to say thank you to them for giving this chance to someone else.
Lovely, so generous! Hmm I would pay it forward by finding some stationery items form my stash to pass on! Which makes me think, an in-person stationery swap sound so fun!
I’m new here, stumbled upon your site as I get into fountain pens! So much great information. Love this planner. I’d pay it forward by donating handmade watercolor cards to Creative Kindness (creativekindness.org), a project I’m planning to start in the new year! Many thanks to the donor!
I would love to win this planner. I will pay this forward by evangelizing the benefits of hand writing notes and thoughts. I have already gifted journals and planners to some special people in my life.
Thank you for the opportunity! I’d pay it forward and use my new planner to remind me to donate more regularly next year…
Please , I will pay it forward by donating a recently completed knitted bird on a leaf to the toy collecting box for local hospital.
That’s so sweet of the member to share.
For my pay it forward I like to save any extra stationery items I am not using, not really my taste, or spare with a group of ladies I know who are on a limited income but still love using fountain pens and ink for art, journaling etc. Soon I hope to penable a young artistic gal with her very own fountain pen. She adores yellow so I am on the lookout for some mustard yellow items to set her up with. Thanks Ana!
I keep money on my ID card at work in case people don’t have enough cash when they buy food on campus. I feel it’s the least I can do.
Hi! If I won this I’d pay it forward by donating colored pencil sets to my neighborhood elementary school.
Wow! I would love to win this giveaway because I could pay IT forward! While it would be fun to keep, I would gift it to my sister who is a world traveler and who would be able to use it to plan her adventures in the coming year! ( pick me ! So I can pick her!)
I would buy a coffee for the girls at the blood bank (tipping my barista generously), donate my blood, then bake cookies for my elderly neighbor.
I donate more money to charitable causes every year than I ever made in salary, even when working multiple jobs. Right now I bailed my 20+ year old jalopy out of the shop after it died in the middle of the highway. The repair cost more than the car is worth. As old Hannah Horowitz has said, “Hard come, easy go.” Got that one right, Mrs. H!
I would pay it forward by showing all the different ways one of these books can be used, not just as a planner on my YT channel. Thanks for the chance and I hope you have a wonderful day!
What a nice holiday surprise
Thanks for the chance
If i win this, I would will pay it forward by “penabling” a friend that I know would love this as a gift.
Thank you for the giveaway! I will pay it forward by donating hand soaps to my school’s holiday shop.
Thank you for the giveaway! I will pay it forward by donating to the adopt a family for the holidays at my work.
What a kind and lovely thing to do. To pay it forward, I would try to find ink matches for all the months and post them to YouTube and Instagram so people don’t have to drive themselves crazy (as I do!) matching the printing colors. : ) Thank you for this opportunity!
I planning to pay it forward by selecting some ornaments off the Giving Tree at work.
Thank you for the giveaway! I’ve got a beautiful black and blue Leuchtturm notebook and a pen ready to be gifted as a random act of kindness to one of my penpals.
I love this on Christmas time
What a generous reader! If I win the Hobonichi planner, I will use it to track the Angel Tree gifts I am purchasing for kids this year! Happy Holidays!
Thank you, anonymous reader, for the giveaway! I like to pay it forward by giving away items I don’t need, from school supplies to food and household items, to a buy-nothing group at my university.
If I win, I’ll pay it forward by posting honest, but fair, assessments of the paper throughout its use, so as not to contribute to the often overheated rhetoric that envelops Hobonichi’s use of TR-S (and its quality, or lack thereof…).
Thank you to the generous reader and to Ana for hosting this lovely gift. If I’m lucky enough to win, I’d pay it forward by hosting a small ‘plan & energize’ morning for my fellow process engineers, helping us all to kickstart the year with goals and tools in hand—and donating gently used notebooks to support our local STEM outreach program.
Monkeys: I know you’re under‑caffeinated, so take your time—I’m happy to wait!
Oh my goodness…what a generous offer! I’m putting together a packet of pens and inks that I have never gotten around to using, and will be delivering it to our local art supplies donation/exchange place. Artists in need can help themselves to supplies for free, no questions asked 🙂
