Happy National Pencil Day! March 30, 1858, is when Hymen Lipman received a patent for a pencil with an attached eraser. The eraser-tipped pencil is 153 years old today!
ARGH! How could I have missed the actual day?!?! Happy belated birthday to my beloved wood-encased sticks of graphite (sometimes topped with vinyl or rubber caps)!

I found these two small, pocket spiral notepads on a trip to the antique mall. Both had the worn brown, heavyweight waxed covers and aged yellow, lined paper. How could I pass them up?

I scored this unused vintage “ledger” at the antique mall this weekend. It appears to a pocket sized address book though it could have been used for a number of purposes. I love the creamy yellow pages, think blue lines and the tabbed alphabetical cut-outs.
