Bottlecap pencil sharpener

original

Turn any plastic bottle into a pencil shavings catcher. This would be a perfect office solution. Take that empty Mr. Pibb bottle from this morning and use it to catch about a year’s worth of pencil shavings. The price is a bit steep at $20 for one but its such a clever solution. It looks like the blade removes with a screwdriver so you may be able to replace or upgrade the blade.

DIY: Personalized Coffee Mug Revisited

(via A Beautiful Mess)
(via A Beautiful Mess)

I posted recently about the DIY custom coffee mug from A Beautiful Mess and I got a lot of feedback from readers that using a Sharpie on a mug would not work well. So I went on a hunt for a better solution to customizing your coffee mug. I knew there had to be another option and there is: its the Pebeo Porcelaine 150 pen.

Pebeo Porcelaine Pen 150

The pen is available in nine different colors and in either a broad or fine tip for about $5 per pen. Draw on your mug and then let the ink dry. Then pop the item in a 300℉ oven for 30 minutes and voila! The artwork or writing is now permanent and dishwasher safe though they recommend keeping the artwork to the outside of your mug and not where your food or mouth might come into contact with it.

Mickey Moleskines

383

The big news this week in the world of notebooks is the new limited edition Mickey Mouse Moleskines. The notebooks are available in the pocket and large size. Each cover is debossed with classic drawings of the famous mouse. Inside, the end papers are filled with sketches and each notebook includes an instructive drawing guide so that you, too, can draw Mickey Mouse.

Even though the Moleskine paper isn’t great for fountain pens, the notebooks are well-built and classic and how can you not love classic Mickey? (FYI: Walt Disney started his mouse empire just a few blocks from where I work now. I can even walk past the building where it all started!)
